As his name implies, Ayibiowu Olusola joined the process of online registration from Nigeria from 4th to 13th May 2025, going through verification as well as getting approved as a member of Phonographic Performance Limited (PPL).
He registered as a performer and rights holder of a music video with a license when recorded music is within PPL's repertoire database. Although his preferred correspondence name on PPL is Olusola David Ayibiowu.

Let’s start by referring to Video Performance Ltd, which was incorporated on 23 May 1984, is a private limited company on the PPL's website states is as a "sister company" but it is a separate legal entity. VPL licenses music videos when they are played in public or broadcast on television. VPL distributes the fees as royalties to its rights-holder members whose names appear on the VPL register and are kept under Section 352 of the Companies Act 1985. Although technically a separate company, VPL operates under the same management as PPL. All activities relating to music videos are conducted as VPL business

On May 9, 2025 Ayibiowu Olusola was approved an VPL as a Member with his own member ID who will now be able to view and manage own account via myPPL..
• view the repertoire database and register repertoire that he own or control the rights to;
• view his payment statements; and
• update his personal details (including bank details for payment) for his myPPL account.
The interesting things about VPL is that they can collect royalties for digital services on behalf of rights holders
If his music videos are broadcast on certain streaming services such as BBC iPlayer or 4oD, VPL can collect royalties on his behalf in the UK.
