David Ayibiowu is one of the songwriter member of SOCAN. It took him
1-3 business working days for the membership to be completed and finally
approved.

the process of registration as there’s a reviewing contract process.
Another message he received was “You’re set up! Now let’s select your
U.S Affiliated Performing Rights Organizations!. Meaning that they’ve
received and verified the contract and is good to go.
When your music is played in the U.S., SOCAN works with U.S,-based performing rights organizations in the U.S. that they partner with to collect your U.S performing rights organization you would like to collect your royalties on your behave in the U.S.

This means that organization identifies and collects your earnings, forwards them to SOCAN,and then it will be distributed to you as they will communicate directly with your U.S affiliate performing rights organizations on your
behalf as they should have set your business in order to pay you as
they will need your banking and tax information. Either in Canada or U.S
Bank Account.
After Olusola’s successfully completed all the due process. He later became the Member of SOCAN on 11th April 2025.

Composers, Authors and Publishers Association of Canada (CAPAC) and the
Performing Rights Organization of Canada (PROCAN).
However during the 2013, the Front Row Insurance Brokers Inc. Started or initiated the way out to online musical instrument insurance program for members of various Canadian music associations, including SOCAN.
By May 2016, SOCAN have already acquired the Seattle-based company Medianet Digital for a tangible and undisclosed amount; the organization have also planned ahead in order to leverage the company's software and database of rights metadata in order to assist in the calculation and distribution of royalties for works on digital music streaming works and services.
Furthermore on July 2016, SOCAN have acquired another company named Audiam, a U.S. startup of which was created by TuneCore founder Jeff Price that specializes in managing the distribution of royalties for songs used on digital services such as YouTube, using a database of song recordings and metadata for identification.
In July 2019, SOCAN partnered with Re:Sound to launch Entandem, a single online portal to collect both copyright and neighbouring rights royalties.
